Click below to read a frank and realistic artical about Mannequins, from The Independent - Fashion Section
This week we were invited by Wildcard Television to Warwick Arts Centre where our Mannequins performed (albeit standing still) in a documentary due to be released on Channel 4 later this year. The programme will be about self imagery on a world wide level and how, sadly, many women are altering their looks to conform to what they think is normal. In my opinion we are all beautiful inside, and if we all felt beautiful we would glow on the outside. So I shall look forward to seeing this documentary!

Hi Tracey
I hope your weekend went well. I was thinking about you at 2.30am Saturday morning when I had just got home from the ‘night at the museum’ event at Bede’s World in Jarrow. The young people there thought your heads were fab and they loved the gory art activity we had planned to turn them into Saxon severed heads!!!
I’m sure I’ll be in touch in the near future to purchase more body parts from you (especially around Halloween I think).
Take care
Speak soon.

Below is an Online Article that made us chuckle
21st May 2009 by Ruth. A mannequin dressed in maternity lingerie has been removed from a shop window after complaints.
Amanda Bere, owner of a lingerie shop in Selby, North Yorkshire, was told by local residents and traders that having a mannequin in her window dressed in sexy HOTmilk-branded lingerie was “offensive” and they demanded that she covered it up or moved it.
Amanda said she put a camisole on the mannequin but had another complaint that the bump could still be seen, so ended up moving the mannequin to the corner of her shop, away from the window.
However, even that didn’t satisfy everyone – local breastfeeding groups complained, saying they were shocked by the adverse comments and wanted to see the lingerie in the window.
What do you think? Are women entitled to wear sexy underwear whilst pregnant? Or are local residents right to feel offended by this image?
(We say Good on Ya Amanda Bere!!) Purely Bodies xx

I met Rosemary online and we have become friends. I admire Rosemary for many reasons, not only because she is an ambitious - hard working Mother and Wife. But also, despite having Cancer herself, she is dedicating her life to raising money for the disease. Having lots of fun along the way, Rosemary travels the country at her own expense, collecting beautiful and rare hats to sell online, where 100% of the proceeds go to Cancer Research. She has mixed with the rich and famous, has hats donated by top designers, press coverage and has even had invitations to Harrods Events!! I have shared a Blog with you composed by Rosemary, during her trip to Glastonbury last year (alone!!) You can see Rosemary below wearing a hat made by her neice, I think she looks absolutely adorable. Please read on, I know it will bring at least a smile to you face, if not a few tears too !!! Enjoy...
WE LOVE YOU ROSEMARY !!!

ade friends with the delightful (when sober) students in the next tent who took pity on me when I said it had been easier to put the tent up in the garden at home! The outdoor cinema went on until 4.30am and the students returned to their tent noisily at 4.45

I did not master "The ShePee" but I can now not only talk knowledgeably about the different forms of outdoor toilets, but also which stall served THE BEST hot chocolate
·
On Sunday night I watched both Neil Diamond and Leonard Cohen live on the Pyramid stage.
Both of them were terrific performers who knew how to work a crowd and there must have been about 5,000 of us spread out over the several fields.
When the sound system packed up when Neil was playing he had us all clapping in time to his drummer - the younger performers couldn't have coped!
·
Leonard Cohen’s voice is still as gravelly as ever despite the encroaching years and I can empathise with one of his lyrics – “I now hurt in the places I used to have fun!”
·
But I'm really glad I did it.
I also watched:
·
Kate Nash
·
KT Tunstall
·
The Fratellis
·
Shakin' Stevens
·
Manu Chao
·
bit of Hot Chip and also
·
The Futureheads
·
and Goldfrapp
as well as a pair of folk musicians who played a wooden dulcimer and a wooden accordion and were true entertainers
and many more!
I shall have to start saving for the next Festival or at least to see Neil Diamond live in concert
I was (fairly) sensible and I did pace myself - I'd have an early morning breakfast at the cafe up the hill and then go back to bed for an hour or so; then I walked around the various stalls "window-shopping" before going back to the tent to put my feet up ready for the early/late evening's entertainment.
I also declined the various offers of vodka jelly! It was good fun - next time I will make sure I go with a friend as it's always better to be able to laugh at funny things with someone else - you look a bit daft giggling manically on your own!
I have some wonderful memories!
PS Michael Eavis’ much publicised biodegradable tent pegs only work on ‘old style’ tents, not on the more modern variety as they break when tapped gently with a mallet.
They ARE good for gently staking small garden plants.
Friends as far apart as Dallas and Burton in Lonsdale have said they’d like to come with me next year
Yours Truly, Rosemary x

Dear Tracey
Thank you so much for putting up the poster. I saw it today for the first time as I was showing a friend your website. It really is most kind of you. I should be able to reciprocate by the middle of next week and email you some shots of your heads with some of my hats! The coffee morning and viewing of some of the 200+ hats last Saturday morning raised £200 from donations for the coffee and the raffle.
Best wishes
